NEW YORK/TORONTO (June 18, 2018) – Payfone, the world’s leading digital identity authentication company, and EnStream, a joint venture of Canada’s leading national mobile telecom companies, today announced they are extending their partnership to create a next-generation, mobile-based federated authentication service that increases convenience for consumers without sacrificing security and privacy.

The new service, to be available initially in Canada, will allow consumers to log into accounts or verify transactions with any participating online service using a single mobile app on their phone. Backed by participating mobile network operators, the service will bring together EnStream’s consumer-friendly Mobile Connect solution with Payfone’s Trust Score identity and fraud analytics solution, which is currently used by Fortune 100 banks, retailers, health insurance companies, and others.

 

How Payfone and Enstream’s Mobile ID service will benefit consumers and enterprises:

 

  • Convenience: Replaces passwords and clumsy two-factor authentication methods.
  • Security: Unlike other “over-the-top” services, online connections will be automatically secured if a phone is reported lost or stolen. No personally identifiable information will be stored on the phone.

  • Brand Continuity: Participating online services will be able to incorporate their own branding into the app to ensure an experience that is branded end-to-end.

In this capacity, Mr. Ashley will lead all government affairs activities, including legislative and executive branch engagement, as well as manage external government affairs resources. In addition, Ashley will develop and lead the federal presence for Payfone risk management and identity management products and solutions.

Ashley, a former Air Force intelligence officer, was nominated by President George W. Bush to serve as Assistant Administrator of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Following his unanimous Senate confirmation, Ashley managed and distributed over $10.1B in federal assistance funds for preparedness and disaster programs within the Department of Homeland Security from 2007-2009 during both the Bush and Obama administrations. In addition, Ashley was the founding Executive Director of the National Fusion Center Association, a national advocacy group for the DHS and DOJ-recognized fusion centers. In the private sector, Ashley founded The Templar Corporation to provide information-sharing solutions to public safety agencies in the United States and Canada. Ashley and his team successfully sold Templar to ChoicePoint after growing the company to supporting over 100 public safety agencies. Most recently, he led business development activities and stakeholder engagement for SAP National Security Services (SAP NS2) and provided consulting services to clients of a global advisory firm in the areas of M&As, homeland security, data analytics, risk management, and intelligence.

Digital identity authentication partnership to protect users against cyber hacks and account takeover attacks is first of its kind in UK

NEW YORK/LONDON (January 23, 2018) – Payfone, the world’s leading digital identity authentication company, and UK mobile network operator O2, today announced that they have signed a partnership contract to protect mobile users against cyber-hacks, account takeover attacks, SIM swap attacks, and other forms of digital fraud.

Payfone and O2 are launching this initiative to address the rapidly growing demand for mobile identity authentication services in the United Kingdom and Europe as more companies continue to realize the necessity of advanced multi-factor authentication solutions in the wake of increased incidences of digital fraud.
