Database Administrator

Location: Denver, CO

Position Summary

The primary responsibilities of this role would include owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents.  Reviewing service related reports (i.e.: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved, responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with database engineering to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems.

What You Are Accountable For

  • Security inside and outside the database(s)
  • Managing and documenting database configurations
  • Ensuring 24X7 availability of critical database systems
  • Identifying SQL or Database performance issues
  • Resolving all database related issues
  • Building, installing, upgrading and patching database environments

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities
  • Oracle 11g Database
  • Oracle 11g RAC
  • Oracle 11g TAF
  • Mysql  5.x
  • Other database technologies
  • Able to work in fast moving environment
  • Considers multiple options and readily understands new approaches
  • Able to work remotely and as part of a team

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • At least 3 years of prior experience
  • 3+ years Oracle administration
  • 3+ years of operational experience in production environments
