QA Engineer

Location: Denver, CO

Position Summary

The QA Engineer will work on a team and closely collaborate with the team members including developers and product owners, helping to fully test requirements utilizing automated and manual testing techniques allowing for product owner acceptance of the specified functionality.

What You Are Accountable For

  • Review and interpret all documentation related to testing, including business requirements and functional and design specifications, in order to provide input to the project team regarding the planning of testing activities
  • Create new and update existing test plans / scripts based on requirements
  • Create automated test scripts
  • Create load and performance test scripts
  • Execute functional, integration, and regression deployment tests to verify the correctness of newly developed system functions and that existing system functions have not been compromised by the delivery of new system code

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to create automated and manual test cases (design, develop, execution plan, and data preparation) based on requirements
  • Ability to analyze requirements and provide feedback / input
  • Familiarity with object oriented language, preferably Groovy or Java
  • Experience with a variety of test tools such as SOAP UI PRO, jMeter, Selenium, etc.
  • Understanding of load balancing  and ability to write and execute load and performance tests
  • Experience with mobility, front/backend, functionality, integration, and regression testing
  • Ability to analyze, document, and review test results
  • Ability to write clear and reproducible defects that describe deviations from expected behavior using defect tracking tool such as Jira
  • Proficient in QA testing methodologies and processes and understanding of the SDLC
  • Understanding of REST, JSON, Basic SQL, HTTP, SSL,  XML, Source Control
  • Strong coordination, organization, and communication abilities

Education & Experience

  • At least 5 years of prior QA experience with manual and automated test creation and execution
